The film begins well. Becomes chaotic, thereafter.
As the credits roll on, one is lead into believing that the movie would be promising, but this one?s not only a waste of resources, but also a sad waste of talents, and most of all-public time.
The movie has no definite plot and goes hay wire throughout the hours. Strange enough, it breaks into a song for no reason right in the beginning. We know that such a thing usually happens when the director has a feeling his audience might not stick around long and so, he throws in a peppy song just to keep the audiences hanging on.
Paglu (Riteish Deshmukh), Abhi (Aftab) and Amu (Ayesha) are childhood buddies and stick together most of the time. Amu is in love with Abhi, who in turn is in love with Kartika, a conniving Rimi Sen. How Amu and Paglu try to keep Kartika off from Abhi is the plot of the entire movie.
Riteish Deshmukh proves again that comedy is his forte and delivers a good performance. In fact, the film rests entirely on his shoulders. The actor has improved film to film and is definitely here to stay for a good while. Ayesha Takia, after having given a total of two hits out of fourteen (!) doesn?t seem any different this time. Although, this one?s definitely a tad better than her earlier performances, Ayesha still has a lot of scope (for improvement, of course). Rimi Sen has given an appreciable performance too, but Aftab it seemed was either not too sure of what he was doing, or still hadn?t received his signing amount from the producer! Somehow, he seemed hell bent on killing the film!
Anupam Kher disappoints immensely. The entire film shows him training the dog to follow his instructions! For an actor of his calibre, one is not sure why he wastes his talent in a movie like this.
Directed by E.Niwas, the film has music by Vishal-Shekhar.
Finally, the relief that you experience when the movie gets over, is the real paisa vasool! |
