This one is going to be an unusual, breezy, fun cinema with lots of light moments that don’t necessarily compel you to divide your attention into any kind of serious analysis or hidden messages. It’s a story of an urban, young, handsome boy, Sid (Ranbir Kapoor) who just kind of floats through life without putting much thought into it. All he cares for is a good and carefree life, minus responsibilities.

Siddharth Mehra has just got over with his final year college exams and now his life is all about friends, his car, camera and his X-Box 360.

Sid’s life is emotionally sustained by his two friends, Rishi (Namit Das) and Lakshmi (Shikha Talsania), while he conveniently eludes his mother, not communicating much with her and takes his father, Ram Mehra’s (Anupam Kher) hard earned money for granted, without being apologetic. Yet Sid’s a lovable, honest and funny guy. Hanging loosely from all corners, and without much thought put into it, Sid’s life suddenly takes a turn when he crosses path with Alisha Banerjee (Konkona Sen Sharma). Alisha is a well read, ambitious and sensible young woman, though a couple of years older to Sid, who has come to Mumbai to realize her dreams as a writer. Sid and Alisha become good friends and he helps her settle down in Mumbai. The subsequent events force Sid to sit up and take a long hard look at his life.
