In an attempt to make quality films available simultaneously on the internet, besides theatre releases, STRIKER will now be released worldwide on you-tube, too.

Produced by The Indian Film Company in association with Studio 18, STRIKER will be the first Indian feature to be premiered on YouTube, coinciding with its theatrical release on February 5, 2010.

This can be called a historical milestone in Hindi cinema, as it’s clear that the makers and the audiences, together, will now find a new meeting ground for their interests. It also means that the mediums of revenue generation from a particular film have been pushed ahead, and for small budget movies this comes as an achievement, of sorts. Moving away from just the conventional theatre release, will not only pave the way for an extended audience world wide, but is also likely to reduce the loss suffered through piracy.

In the US, STRIKER will be available for rent on YouTube. Outside the US, STRIKER will be available for free on Studio18's YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/studio18. In order to ensure that the revenues from the Indian theatrical release are maximized, the movie will be not be available for the YouTube traffic originating from India.

As cinema release is being redefined at this moment in India, the makers are on the same page with the online spaces, and look keen to offer their forth coming titles for you-tube premiere, as well. According to a source from Studio18: 'This is a redefining moment. The success of this project will put wings to our films, which are rich in content but unable to find optimal distribution abroad because they don't feature the conventional stars.'
