Aamir Khan, Raju Hirani and Vinod Chopra have officially locked horns with the highest selling Indian author in English, Chetan Bhagat, over the 3 IDIOTS “credit-snatching” controversy.

The best selling author is pissed about the fact that Hirani and Chopra have not given due credit to him in their film, when the film is based on Bhagat’s novel “Five Point Someone”, which shot him to fame.

In the allegation Chetan Bhagat has said that the makers always claimed that the film will borrow not more than 5 percent from his book; he was never shown the film before the release and finally when he saw the end product he was surprised because the film has borrowed heavily from his book, according to Bhagat.

Bhagat also alleges that “the makers of the film had problems in stating the credit as “Based on a novel by”. Instead they wanted to give some absurd credit like “initiated by” which doesn’t exist anywhere in the world.”

In the meanwhile, Aamir Khan, too, has joined the jing-bang of blaming champs and is now, naturally, siding up with his producer and director. Says Aamir, rather vehemently: “I think Bhagat is just trying to get publicity from our film. I have advised Vinod and Raju to take him to court for maligning all of us.”

On the other hand, Bhagat has agreed to move the court and surely he doesn’t look like he’d have hassles about flocking to the court if instigated by the “Idiots”!

Well, for Aamir, Raju and Vinod nothing is really well as far as the controversy goes, at least for the moment
