He's one of the finest actors in recent times. Yet it has been the longest time since one read anything nice about him. What is it about Shiney Ahuja that irks people, wonders Shubarna Mukerji Shu! Preconceived notions are a curse to communication, but everyone I spoke to before meeting Shiney Ahuja considered it their prerogative to caution me about his so-called bad attitude. Everyone told me to be watchful. His three-hour delay for the shoot didn't help his cause either, though apparently it was his help's fault and not Shiney's! I was almost anticipating the 'attitude' but when he walked in, after his apologies, he seemed pretty regular. Maybe in my head I was thinking he would start complaining about the make-up room being too small or the chair not high enough... but he really seemed completely at ease. Obviously it got me really confused. I didn't know how to react to him anymore! To add to it, he tried everything we asked him to (before the camera, of course) and basically appeared rather chilled out! I waited the whole day for the tantrums to show up but they didn't. I still didn't lose hope completely.... I was beginning to write the day off as one-of-the-rare-days-when-Shiney-had-no-complaints but the next day when I met him, he was not only on time but also extremely courteous. What is it that he does then, that puts people off ? Where is it that I have to be to see him throw a fit ? Why is it that every time I have mentioned Shiney Ahuja to people he has worked with I get the raised eyebrows and words of caution?
