Aamir Khan has clarified that for now he will just produce the film and nothing more

How does it feel post the success of JTYJN ? Feels great! I am glad the film is being appreciated by everyone. We all had worked very hard for it. You were training to become a director and writer initially. Why you decided to dump the idea of becoming a writer-director for ever ? At that time I was very grumpy?How people take advantage of you and this and that. And in that time I met Abbas, the director of Jaane Tu... and so I decided, chalo I'll be an actor then and (grins) after that people won?t take advantage of me... So what was your family's reaction when you first told them that you wanted to become an actor ? Mamu's reaction was: 'I don't think Imran can act.' And then he remembered how people had reacted to him. All the people who knew him, when they heard Aamir is doing a film, they were like, there's no way he can act! They had just written him off. So he reminded himself not to write me off. Now he thinks I am good and have the potential. What about Mansoor's reaction to your taking up acting ? I think he found out much, much later on to do anything about it! One would've thought this was a family that sat and decided together? This is something people have a hard time accepting. They ask me, 'So how much did Aamir guide you ? - Which he does not, really. It?s just not the way we do things. Like he said, we all figure our own stuff out and we make our own decisions.
